We are delighted this week to share our first official guest Blog from our friends at Trident Hospitality: It’s an old cliché, but it happens to be very true in the Hotel & Events industry that ‘people buy from people’…. It may sound trite but clients like to know the suppliers they are dealing with are to be trusted and credible.
With over 30 years in the hotel & catering trade, Kevan Holland, MD of Trident Hospitality Consultants has been around longer than most & has built up an envious ‘black book’ of contacts & those people that will not only deliver for clients but also go over & above in the line of duty!
There are plenty of medium to large conference/events agents who do a very good job but there are also hundreds of smaller agencies that rely on working closely with the client & showing great value for money & a personal service.
With the formation of the Alliance of Independent Event Agencies (AIEA), this fits in perfectly with Trident’s raison d’etre of promoting independent hotels’ & conference venues who are just as good as the big boys but maybe have fallen ‘off the radar’ or do not have the large marketing budgets of some of the large chains in the UK.
The ‘smaller’ agents USP can sometimes be described as having such a good business relationship with their clients that they know exactly what they are looking for when trying to find venues for meetings, training courses etc. This determination to offer the very best service is also allied to Trident’s portfolio of independent/unusual venues that they are able to offer as a possible alternative to the ‘usual suspects’ that can be found along most motorways or city centres.
The AIEA is a non profit organisation & determined to share their knowledge amongst members which ultimately helps the people we are all trying to represent.. our customers !!
