Although officially the Alliance has only been up and running since February, the planning and background work of the committee has been in place for almost two years, so this August when we all get together, it’s really important that our members share their views. The Alliance is not for profit and we want an organisation that is driven by its members, and serves their needs above everything else. We are very lucky in that a whole host of amazing venues, suppliers, DMC’s and Industry Professionals are supporting the Alliance and also our membership is steadily growing – almost 30 independent agencies are now on board – but if we are not delivering value or direction for members then the organisation will lose momentum and focus.

Therefore, in addition to both existing members and potential new members, the AGM is an open forum for both debate and discussion and will set the agenda for the next stage in this important Alliance. We’ve already issued a survey out to all existing members in order to get an idea of the total MICE spend that collectively we deliver to the industry and this is expected to show real significance in terms of our standing.

All of the members of the Alliance are independent, unique agencies with a range of different skills, clients and objectives, but collectively as small business owners, we all face the same challenges, hurdles and obstacles daily. What is great about the Alliance is that together we are stronger, we are more educated and our simple policy of information, education and sometimes resource sharing, makes us a force to be reckoned with.
