With Christmas over, and the days starting to get longer, Chew are thinking ahead to the summer. So with Pimm’s in the forefront of our minds, we wanted to share our top tips on how to make your summer party SIZZLING HOT. Why not shake things up this year, with a happening venue, in a buzzing location with some tasty food and exciting activities for your guests?!

The road to your next event starts here…

  1. Location, Location, Location

Every planner knows that where they choose to host their next event is every bit as important as the venue itself, whether you’re looking at something close to the office or providing a hub for a network of guests.

Top Tip:

Transport links are so important. Who wants to start a good time with a stressful journey?

So select wisely and your guests will thank you later!

2. THE Venue

With new venues popping up every day, there is more choice than ever! Here are a few of our London favourites that we are buzzing about.

Pergola Paddington

This unique venue has announced it’s back for a second year. Hidden in Paddington’s business district, this rooftop bar is one of the prettiest of the bunch, with hanging foliage, giant day beds and fairy lights surrounding the space.

120 Fenchurch Street

Opening in spring 2019 this new London rooftop, located below a public sky garden, has stunning views of the River Thames, Tower Bridge and the famous Shard. With a capacity of over 200 guests this venue can be your next venue for a successful summer party.

Magazine London

With all the new openings in 2019, Magazine London is the biggest. The flexible blank canvas can hold up to 7,000 guests in its new Showground space making it perfect for many different events.

Secret River Garden

If you are looking to escape London City, The Secret River Garden is the most romantic of the new venues in 2019. Nestled among woodlands two elegant marquees will be installed between April and June.

Top Tips:

ALWAYS think about whether the venue is right for your audience.

3. Catering

You can put together some creative mouth-watering options for your guests. How about a giant picnic with pre-made hampers or…

BBQ’s are  ALWAYS a crowd pleaser!

Gin is in! Portable gin bars are a fun idea when bringing life to the party. Suppliers such as The Little Gin Company are great for that little extra touch. Or if Green is your theme then why not join the trend of 2019 with a vegan themed food truck?

Top Tip:

There is nothing worse than standing in a long queue waiting for food when you’re hungry. Make sure you take into consideration the amount of people attending your event/serving stations and that your catering option will work for them!

4. The Activities

There is nothing better than an activity to pull a group together but here are a few of our favourites for the summer coming.

Why don’t you offer your guests an outside Cinema, where they can get away from the hustle and bustle of the party and relax and unwind under the dwindling night sky?

For something a little more active, how about a ‘Kidult day’? Get some bouncy castles, or to keep the budget down how about getting your guests to do the classic sports day races, like egg and spoon races, sack racing or a 3 legged race.

Top Tip:

It is important to make sure that your activity is suitable for the venue, and number of people attending, including having a wet weather option. Activities are only memorable if they are properly thought through to eliminate disorder and maximise the fun factor!

By including these 4 simple steps in the planning process, Chew is certain that your Summer party will be a great success and definitely one to remember!
