So as my reign begins, I personally would like to wish you all 12 months of success, 52 weeks of laughter, 365 days of fun, 8760 hours of joy, 525600 minutes of good luck, and 31536000 seconds of happiness!

Happy New Year everyone and a very warm welcome to all of the new Alliance members who have come onboard recently. including our latest member, Goldcrest Events. As we wave goodbye to 2020, I just wanted to say again a huge THANK YOU to Paula for all her efforts before and during the Pandemic. She has kept us entertained, provided a shoulder to cry on, championed the alliance with other industry organisations and basically done a cracking job. But fear not, she is staying on the Board and more details of her new role will be announced shortly. But for now tarra chuck!

We realise some of our members are facing uncertain times, so we have agreed to delay the sending out of the subscription invoices for a few weeks with payment not due until the end of March.   This will hopefully provide the breathing space you need to take stock and assess what your clients plans are for the year.

We will continue to evolve the Alliance with a view to bringing you more benefits, adding value to your membership and providing support whilst we all begin to re-establish and grow our businesses again. Don’t forget you can also check out the AIEA website for details of all things relating to the Alliance;  for example the brilliant resource centre which provides sample contracts, latest supplier terms and conditions, commission deals, etc etc the list goes on.  It’s a great source of information, please use it and if you have any suggestions for content please let us know.

Following the democratic voting by the members, (no recount needed) I am delighted to formally welcome Chris Walls as Vice Chair of the Alliance, who will work with myself and the rest of the Board to shape our future plans moving forward.

During January we will be formulating the plan for AIEA Events in 2021;  there is light at the end of the tunnel and we all cannot wait to get back to live events, health advice & security permitting.

Until that day dawns, please show your continued support where you can by joining in with the virtual coffee mornings or online events.  Getting involved will be the key to the continued success of the AIEA so please do not hesitate to come forward with new ideas, suggestions or if you want to do more (email:  kerry@hatchevents.co.uk) – We Are Stronger Together!

On behalf of the board of the AIEA I want to wish everyone of our members a happy, healthy and successful 2021, as the incomparable D:REAM  would say…’Things can only get better!’
