On the 16th August The Alliance of Independent Event Agencies held its third annual AGM at the Mercure Walton Hall, and announced confirmation that Leeds based Simply Better events became the official 75th member. And today we are delighted to announce that we have confirmed our 76th member.
Paula Kelsey, MD of Cloud 9 Event Management Ltd and current chair of the Alliance commented: “The Alliance has grown at an exceptional rate since its inauguration and although one of the core objectives of my tenure was to grow membership, we are keen to stick to our original ethos and only enable members to join who share our vision of engagement and supporting fellow members within an ever evolving industry.
There are an extraordinary amount of members now taking active responsibility for key aspects of Alliance initiatives, including our new resource centre, which will allow members to call on the core skills of fellow members in everyday situations – such as additional on-site event support, event websites, insurance and banking advice – as well as more unusual scenarios where objective advice on the issues of day to day business activities can be shared in a secure and knowledgeable environment”.
Paula added: “Although we all share a common theme with working in the events industry, we all have unique skills and areas of specialism and being able to share these key skills with fellow members is one of many benefits of joining. Our mantra of #StrongerTogether remains paramount to our future success”.
The AGM was followed by the second annual Summer Carnival and despite the weather, the Alliance members were joined by a raft of suppliers who engaged in a fun afternoon of team building activities. The event culminated with an Ibiza themed beach party and BBQ and saw over 150 event professionals enjoy a fantastic evening of great food and entertainment.
