Story Hotels is a Swedish hotel chain, founded by Nicolas Fredell in 2009 and earlier this year Hyatt entered into a franchise agreements with Story Hotels Holding AB to bring three hotels in Sweden under the JDV Hotel brand, helping to grow Hyatt’s independent collection brand in Europe.

Story Hotel Riddargatan and Story Hotel Signalfabriken in Stockholm and Story Hotel Studio Malmö, in the city of Malmö all join Hyatt’s independent collection portfolio, and if you add in the existing Hotel Reisen, that is four hotels in Sweden by the brand. Story Hotels are all about being representative of their location and embracing their neighbourhoods, the design of each hotel is an extension of its surroundings and a reflection of the local culture. And breakfast buffet and wi-fi is always included in all room rates, so what’s not to like.

Story Hotel Riddargatan, Story Hotel Signalfabriken and Story Hotel Studio Malmö all have individually designed boutique guestrooms, great spaces for meeting and work and food and beverage offerings to meet local demand.

Hotel Riddargatan is located in the fashionable area of Östermalm district a vibrant area with restaurant bars and some of the best nightlife and designer shopping Stockholm has to offer. The 83-room Story Hotel Riddargatan is designed with an industrial theme to reflect the building’s former life as an apartment building, an historic famous hair salon and garage. The rooms are modern and sleek and perfect for urbanites looking for a stylish place to stay, with distressed walls, sleek furniture and exposed pipework.

In a more unusual location and also industrial is design, but a little more contemporary is the Story Hotel Signalfabriken. The hotel is located inside the Signalfabriken building, which was formerly a fire station and town hall – so probably has many stories to tell from its past.
